The Feedstocks we haul are raw materials used within the Anaerobic Digestion (AD) process. The feedstocks hauled by AWSM Recycling Limited are predominately Products and By Products from Agriculture and Food Manufacture, including but not limited to the following:
- Food Soups
- Slurry
- Silage
- Effluent Treatment Plant Sludges
- Rendering By-Products
- Whey
- Feedstocks to seed / reseed digesters and effluent treatment plants.

With many years experiences supporting a growing client base across the UK, AWSM has a proven track record of accommodating client requirements which are time critical, no matter how big or small, utilising a growing fleet, currently comprising over 30 tankers and tipper outfits.
Furthermore, to ensure ongoing compliance and traceability with all relevant statutory requirements and current best practice, AWSM has developed and successfully implemented a ‘in house’ App. This App is used to trace each load from point of collect to its destination and produce the necessary documents legally required to accompany each load, such as Waste Transfer Notes and Commercial Documents.
What is AD?
Simply put, AD is a process through which bacteria break down organic matter, such as animal manure, wastewater biosolids and food wastes, in the absence of oxygen, to turn it into biogas and digestate. The resulting biogas can be used as a source of energy and the and digestate as a source of nutrients in the form of a bio fertiliser.
Increasingly, AD technology is being used in the UK to make the most of feedstock material by turning it into a renewable energy source and nutrient-rich fertiliser.
